Outstanding in the Field: Connecting Diners to Nature

In 2022, Jim Denevan and the Outstanding in the Field team elevated their dedication to culinary artistry by hosting a long table dining experience in a lush mango orchard at the foothills of the Lartey mountains. This unique event featured a stunning menu curated by Chef Fatmata Binta, who drew inspiration from the rich culinary heritage of Fulani nomadic traditions. Complementing the feast were expertly paired wines selected by Kodjo Adovor, West Africa’s first certified sommelier.

The event went beyond just dining—it was an immersive celebration of food, culture, and nature. Food lovers, artists, and musicians gathered to connect deeply with the land, honoring local food traditions and responsibly sourced ingredients.
